It's not a statement of judgement, only an explanation to those who don't understand why nothing is moving.Raj wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 6:17 amFirst two points check out. As for adding developers, we are open to it, and I’m happy to run them through what is blocking a cache update. Reality is that most potential trial devs are in the exact same situation as all of us. No time and no justification for prioritizing it over things that are more important in life. Not that the game is unimportant. But you can imagine there are many more important things for the average single 28 year old software engineer to spend their time on.Patel wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 3:16 am It would require either more free time on their end (doesn't exist), prioritization over actual work or life responsibilities (doesn't make sense to), or someone they trust who also wants to take the keys to the server for development (no such person exists that meets both criteria; the trustworthy people are uninterested, the interested people are not trustworthy).
This is just based on what I talked about with Rapsey like 2 weeks ago, my third point is consistent with what you're saying. Trustworthy people are uninterested, or they deem that it's not worth their time if that verbiage is better. I understand the realities of... well, life I suppose, and that doesn't make anyone wrong for not choosing PkHonor over all the other things a SWE has to do to stay alive in this market (with decent pay ofc, anyone can land a 60k job in the great plains with zero external growth opportunities).

Re: Game is Dying, find a way to Revive it
The server is stuck in development hell. Trying to update old code is a spaghetti mess, and there's no standard. I spent probably a good 6 months working on Runelite (half-baked as it is) just for the biggest block to be the cache update. As of writing this now, Jagex has changed the format of their cache about 3 different times from what we were gonna implement (was January of 2025). Not to mention, there are hundreds of items, npcs, and objects that we have that don't match OSRS IDs. Because of this, the cache updating process is hella tedious. Either we update all of our Server to match the OSRS format, or we keep what we currently have, which is over 50k lines of hard-coded definitions client-side. All of this while I am also working full-time, trying to spend time with friends, and working out daily.
I dare anyone to find where Vorkath is implemented in the files. And if you say in a designated Vorkath NPC file, you are sorely mistaken.
