People don't want to be told how to "behave properly" over the internet and to be fair, there are loads of other servers that are pretty much identical to this. As for punishments being strict - I believe it's the best way to get people to behave properly. And to be honest, being taken your yell rights away for one day is hardly worth getting mad about.
"Oh no, now I can't tell everyone to come duel me for a day. I'm quitting this server."
I don't really think so to be honest.
Plus, most people don't have anything to fear - at least 95% of all players know how to use yell properly. It's those 5% who consistently abuse it that need to be scared of harsh punishments. But to be honest, they kind of got it coming.
Then again, the punishments are certainly up for debate, and I'll be sure to put up an official poll on the severity of the punishments later on. First I'd like some input from the community though.

About insults/disrespecting and racism, depending on the content, those can be interlinked. I won't go into examples, but...
The punishment for aforementioned categories could be the same, with a minimum punishment set at 2-3 days
and the maximum being that of one week (7 days). Punishments in first-time offences would be set accordingly from 2-7 days,
but multi-offenders would get 7 + 7 days automatically. Why this:
1) First-time offender, who gets punished, should understand WHY he/she was muted.
(Plus we don't know if the offender will repeat the crime).
2) Second-time offender has no room to say "I didn't know" or "Too harsh", for he/she was punished earlier
and therefore should know, what would follow. Now you (staff) don't have to consider any mitigating circumstances, if there were any.
The idea of punishments is to prevent offences but also to make people think of their actions.

Maybe not everyone put money into this game, but they all still care. For they skill, they do combat, they buy/sell things in-game.
Which counts for one's PROGRESS, so of course they care too, don't they? What I am saying is, that people put always some sort
of effort and that means they care.
I care deeply, yet I am not even playing in-game at the moment. I know a lot about disturbances and that's because I have been
the disturbing part, on more than one occasion unfortunately. I have been banned for quite a while now, but I'll never stop caring.
PkHonor gives something to everyone playing it, the odd ones like me think of this as the Paradise.
Now what kind of logic is that? I get your point of money keeping the server alive,
but there are people with actual feelings. Besides, I don't think Mike cares only about receiving (money),
even though that is an incentive in itself.
He has to deliver, which he does and considerations like these are the signs, that Mike cares, for he wouldn't
make this kind of topic if he didn't care at all. I don't think he would bother at this server, if it was a lost war,
figuratively speaking.

I'm all for positive changes - I personally believe there should be incentive to do the right thing, rather than punishment for doing the wrong thing. I'm also very well aware that some of the things I've listed are rather harsh/extreme. I didn't do that because I want things to be that way, I did it because I want to know how the community thinks about them.

What I can think of is more communication between staffmembers, as it seems to me they're very separated and does their own thing. Many times it seems they're not using logic nor common sense when muting people, but rather set it under a rule and it all becomes fine.
