Ancient Repair Kit Poll

Hello gamers,

With the recent change to Nex items, more ancient repair kits are spent on a death than before. Right now, for every 1 hour invested in obtaining repair kits (in endgame gear), you receive 3 hours in combat in a full Nex set, or 2 hours if you kill Nex while using Nex gear. Simply, an hour of time invested nets you either 2 or 3 hours of gear usage, depending on what gear you use at Nex.

The poll options are as follows:
  • Add Ancient repair kits to Brimstone Chests, rewarding kits at comparable rates to Nex. (Yes/No)
  • (Double/Triple) Nex's Ancient Repair kit drops. (Yes/No)
  • Drop 10 noted kits with Nex item drops. (Yes/No)
  • On death, drop the contained charges rounded down, noted (Yes/No)

If multiple polls pass, we might disclude the least preferred option(s) to avoid adding too many repair kits.

Please vote, thanks. Feel free to post your own suggestions on the thread, we're open to ideas.

Buff nex for it ig.

I'm really questioning even the reasoning behind this poll though. You can avoid losing "all" charges by only using one kit at a time, so why are all charges even lost on death in the first place? It literally invalidates the whole "deaths need to be punishing" line of thinking. Buffing repair kit drops seems like a band-aid on a stupid design decision that no one asked for to begin with. Why would you even drop the contained charges in the form of ancient repair kits, but rounded down? Just keep the goddamn charges but round them down to the next multiple of 4K.

As an iron with it is how it its 3 kits an hour from nex, which makes nex gear near unsunsustainable to use, espeically when loosing all charges when dying.

maybe not rounding down because that could result in loosing only say 3 charges on a death that isn't balanced, however buffind them from other sources is much better

going down to the closest multiple of 4K would be the same like it previously was, losing a (10) charge on death.

I think loosing a repair kit per death per item is more than fair, not sure why it was changed in the first place

Yea and as far as I understand this poll to be, the charges would be set to 0 and you'd go pick up the kits alongside your other stuff and go repair them at your PoH. Essentially it'd be only losing a repair kit, but It seems so arbitrary adding a whole other step which is repairing the gear again. That's not punishing, that's tedious & bad game design

So the reason it's different from like other charged items is because to charge the other charged items you just use the charging component on it rather than doing it step by step at an armour repair stand. That's the only difference between the Nex charging system and like a Blowpipe or something. Maybe another option is removing the armour stand/cons requirement, but that's another thing

I'd support that since the armor stand provides no benefits to using it & if it charged like blowpipe, we could use the repair kit on the item which takes away an additional click (right clicking the gear piece when trying to add any more charges to an item that has >1 charges left)
