Client release for freeze/crash issues

Post by Mike » Mon Aug 23, 2021 12:49 am

Today, Rapsey has worked out a potential fix for players who have been experiencing severe lag, framedrops, freezes or crashes recently.
However, before releasing this as our new official client for all players, we'd first like to ask our players to try it out to see if this client introduces any new issues and - most importantly - if it fixes, or at least improves, the current problems with our existing client related to lag, framedrops, freezes or crashes.

Jar client URL: https://client.pkhonor.net/PkHonor_freeze_fix.jar

Portable zip client URL: https://client.pkhonor.net/PkHonor_freeze_fix.zip

Please share your experience with the new client in this thread, so we know if it is safe to release it for all players. Thank you!

Haven't necessarily experienced significant improvement so far but I'll urge others to try it out as well to get more feedback.

It's mostly a fix for those who have constant crashes in certain times or places, such as the Nightmare. It also appears to be related to the operating system and/or java version (the issues may possibly be the most severe for Mac OS X and Linux users). I haven't experienced such issues myself yet as a Windows user, but this might be different for other players.

Recommended a few people who experienced the crashes to use the client and seems to have worked in all cases.

Does this include the edgeville wilderness lag?

I think it's safe to release these for the people experiencing crashes at The Nightmare, suggested it to several people and solved it for each one of them.
