Today's update brings the following changes:
  • It is no longer possible to bring more than one account to the Nightmare per IP address at the same time.
  • You now need to deal at least 600 damage to the Nightmare to be eligible for a drop (instead of 100).
  • The cost to fight the Nightmare again after you die has been increased to 20M coins (instead of 1M).

This update introduces a couple of small QoL additions and fixes some known bugs.

Lottery dude
The Lottery dude is one of the most beloved Npcs, located at Varrock centre.
He has existed for many years, and we figured that he deserves some extra attention!
The dialogue of the Lottery dude has been improved, he received additional right-click options,
and the Lottery dude will now shout out how many tickets are required to fill the pot.
Furthermore, to make the lottery more accessible, you can now type ::lottery to show the current info about the pot.

Brawling glove storage
There have been several suggestions on improving the way Brawling gloves can be stored.
The gloves can be very useful, even long after reaching 2B experience, so they are likely to eat up storage space in the bank.
To combat this, we added a Brawling glove storage, accessible by the right-click option 'Storage' on the Estate Agent.
It's fully free of charge and you can store up to one of each Brawling glove with the Estate Agent. Hopefully this will help clear out the bank a bit more!

Image

Furthermore...
  • The experimental client released on 23 August has now become the official client.
  • For UIM, excess pets will now go to the Refund box, instead of the inaccessible bank.
  • The 'Ashio Dissolvio' slayer perk has been added! This will now dissolve ashes for some additional prayer experience.
  • The rate of skilling pets post 2B has been changed to x4, regardless of whether you already have the pet or not.
  • The Viggora's chainmace, Craw's bow and Thammaron's sceptre can now be dismantled for 2,000 revenant ether.
  • Reaching 2B Strength experience showed the wrong instruction on where to purchase the 2B skill cape. This has been corrected.
  • The Wilderness level for the KBD teleport has been corrected.
  • The TzRek-Zuk pet has been added to the correct Collection log sections.
  • Transferring Slayer points to other players is no longer possible.
  • The 'old model' looks of the prayer scrolls has been fixed to be in line with OSRS.
  • Fixed animation of the summoned souls at Cerberus.
  • Everyone participating in battling the Nightmare will now gain KC, instead of just the MVP.
Feel free to send me a message, I'd gladly have a chat!

First of all, we have changed the combat XP modifier to 1,000 (which used to be 950). Aside from the global 5.26% bonus combat XP and having properly rounded numbers in your XP counters, it will now be easier to see how much damage you dealt in combat simply by looking at the digits before the comma.
You will also no longer receive magic XP for the initial casting of a combat spell, considering this only gave a negligible amount of XP anyway. You will obviously still receive 1000 magic XP per damage you deal with combat spells.

We have also made some improvements to the XP drops in combat. First of all, drops for shared combat XP (attack/defence/strength, ranged/defence and magic/defence) will now show up as a single line, displaying the combined amount of XP gained. Secondly, whenever you receive bonus combat XP (from bonus XP events, brawling gloves or bonus XP in the wilderness), the drop will be split among two lines: one line with the damage x1000 and a second line with the bonus XP. This way, you can easily determine the damage dealt simply by looking at the bottom line:

Image

Furthermore, whenever an ironman is in PvP combat, you have locked your XP or you already have 2B XP in a skill, a fake XP drop will be shown indicating the amount of XP you would have normally gained (no bonuses will be shown for combat XP). Instead of orange, this text is shown in white, so you know you're not actually gaining any XP:

Image

Another much requested feature: stacks of items on the same floor tile are now sorted according to their market value (most expensive item at the top, least expensive item at the bottom).
Note that untradeable items will always show up on top of everything else and be shown in purple. To this end, they are considered to have a value of 10T plus their actual value (this fake value of 10T+ is not used anywhere else, it is purely to display it with its proper order and colour).

Image

In other news:
  • Serpentine and magma blowpipes now have their own charges and darts, separate from the toxic blowpipe (similar to the serpentine and magma helms, who have their own charges). Players who have one of these two blowpipes, but who do not have a toxic blowpipe on their account (and are thus unable to retrieve any scales or darts) will have their toxic blowpipe charges and darts be automatically transferred to their serpentine or magma blowpipe, whichever they equip first. Other players who have both a toxic blowpipe and a charged serpentine/magma blowpipe will find their serpentine/magma blowpipe empty, but can transfer their scales and darts by unloading and uncharging their toxic blowpipe.
  • Cerberus is now considered a demonic creature, meaning demonbane weapons (such as arclight) are now stronger against it.
  • The junk store salesman now has a "Trade-tickets" right-click option, opening a store where you can buy and sell 100M and 1B tickets.
  • Added the ::nm command to check how many players are currently fighting the Nightmare of Ashihama.

Image Clan Expansion Image

So, welcome to a new update! Hopefully everyone is doing well and staying healthy during these times.
This time around, we have focused on bringing you a bunch of clan-related changes and of course a ton of QoL improvements!
So, as always, grab yourself a snack and explore what today's update has to offer!

Clan Chats
For this update we wanted to focus on a crucial part of PkHonor: the clans.
A lot of players are heavily involved in participating in their clan, and they are a driving force within our community.
We figured that we should honor that and focus on improving the Clan Chat system!

Image

A bunch of new settings and integrations were added to the clan system, aiming to improve the experience for clan members and leaders.
First and foremost, we recognize that many players are not familiar with the forums, and do not know which clans exist nor how to join one.
We want to move towards integrating some forum-elements into the game itself. So that's what we did!

If you are currently not in a Clan, the Clan Chat tab will now shows an overview of 'Popular Clans':

Image

A clan shows up on the list when the Clan owner has the 'Show clan on Popular Clans' option enabled. This option is Donator+ only.
Each of the Clans on the overview can have several statusses:
  • 'Open' means that the 'Who can enter chat' option is set to 'Anyone', allowing anyone to join the CC.
  • 'Member' means that the 'Who can enter chat' option is NOT set to 'Anyone', but you have the required rank within the Clan to join.
  • 'Apply' means that the 'Who can enter chat' option is NOT set to 'Anyone', and a Clan Chat Forums thread is linked to the Clan. When clicking these clans, you will be prompted to apply to this clan and will be forwarded to the forum page.
  • 'Private' means that 'Who can enter chat' option is NOT set to 'Anyone', and NO Forums thread is linked to the Clan. You cannot apply to these Clans.

Discord Invitation Link
In the past years, we have the rising popularity of Discord as a Clan's preferred communication platform.
Most of the clan-related discussions are held there, announcing events, discussing drama and just chilling on VC.
We want to facilitate access to these Discord channels and have added a 'Discord Invitation Link' button that can be used by the specified ranks.
This will hopefully make it easier to get access to the Clan's Discord channel!

As most of you know we have a rule about what kind of websites can be advertised on PkHonor. For example: linking to a forum that distributes bot scripts or organises RWT transactions would not be allowed. This rule also applies to Discord channel links. However, because these links can be made accessible only to select players, we would like to clarify a few things:
  • Staff members do not have the ability to enter a clan's Discord channel uninvited. We have no desire to intrude on a clan's private sphere.
  • Our commitment not to extend our rules to Discord remains unchanged: no one will be held accountable for what they do or say in a clan's Discord channel.
That being said, if it turns out that a clan's Discord channel is being used to organise rule-breaking, we hope you can understand that we do not want a link to it in the game. Therefore if we receive a credible report that this is the case we will act on it. If the channel in question has at least one staff member in it we will be able to verify the evidence presented in the report. On the other hand, if the clan does not wish to have any staff members in their Discord channel (as is their right), we will have no choice but to rely on whatever screenshot evidence is provided to us.

If a report is deemed valid the only consequence would be the removal of the Discord link. We remain determined that nothing said or done on Discord should result in punishment on PkHonor. A Discord link would not be removed solely because two people in the channel are talking about rule-breaking, only if the channel is actively being used to incite or organise it.

Because we are aware that Discord screenshots are easily forged, the decision has been made to introduce a new and long-overdue rule: providing fake evidence in a report is now considered an offence and will result in both in-game punishment as well as losing your right to make reports. This change is intended to protect clans who don't want any staff in their Discord from being harassed in this way. This is meant to safeguard the privacy of clans without simultaneously allowing channels best described as "Botting Central" or "RWT'ers Paradise" to have their links advertised in the game with impunity. Should you choose to run a Discord channel like that we kindly ask that you do not put a link to it in the game.

Loot & Kill Notifications
Outside of the community-aspect of Clans, PvP and PvM are central to Clan activity.
We wanted to add some exciting new notifications whenever a Clan member gets a valuable PvM drop or gets a valuable PvP kill, to capture and spread the hype.
The threshold can be changed to notify the Clan members of lower/higher drops (to regulate spam).

Image

Announcements
Going to have a big bossing event this Thursday? Planning to delve into the Wilderness with the entire clan this Saturday?
Announcements are here to help. Announcements can be set up to broadcast a message within the clan every few minutes.
Use these to announce events, mention rules or remind members of other things.
The announcements can be modified by using //announce <message>, or just //announce to stop the current announcement from broadcasting. The clan's owner can adjust the announcement interval to 2, 5, 10, 20 or 60 minutes.

Image

Additional Clan Changes
  • You can now use the //thread command to broadcast the ::thread id to the other members.
  • Attempting to join a clan with a forums thread linked will now prompt the user to apply to this clan, and link them to the corresponding post.
  • A lootshare chat icon was added to lootshare messages, making it easier to distinguish.
  • Messages sent from players on your ignore list will now no longer show up inside the Clan Chat.
  • The Clan Chat tab has been visually remastered.

Theatre Addict
The 'Theatre Addict' slayer perk has been added for 1,850 slayer points, and is unlockable at any of the slayer masters.
To unlock this perk, you must have completed the Theatre of Blood at least 20 times.
While this perk is activated, Verzik Vitur can be an assigned monster from the Elite slayer master.

The points and experience is rewarded upon completing Verzik Vitur's room in the Theatre of Blood, even if you died during the fight.

Image

Locking Combat Experience
We have heard several complains about the lacking ability of being able to lock the remaining combat stats (hitpoints, ranged, magic and strength).
So we revisited this piece of content to further expand upon it and make it more accessible!

You can still use the existing commands (::lockdef and ::lockatt), but you can now also right-click the skills in your skill tab to change the lock settings:

Image

Aside from this new menu, the skills in your tab will also show an orange color and information when the skill has been locked.
We also extended this functionality to the Morph realm, where it will indicate the reduced stats for non-Morphed players.
Hopefully this will make it more clear when a skill is locked and when skills are reduced!

Image

Momma Sheep
Fred the Farmer, from the Lumbridge sheep pen, has made a mistake. A big one actually.
He found out about a spell which could be used to enhance his sheep, so he used it on the mother sheep to increase his wool production.
Little did he know that this sheep would turn against him!

Fred managed to capture the sheep inside a magical dimension, but it's trying to escape.
He requires an experienced adventurer that is able to defeat the beast.
Bring Fred the Momma Sheep's bones and he will surely award you for your heroic efforts.
The Momma Sheep is able to attack with each of the combat styles, so come prepared! It's not an easy fight for sure.

Image

Ranged Equipment
As many of you have seen, we are quickly nearing the finish line of the Chambers of Xeric.
Ranged is an integral part of the Chambers of Xeric, where a lot of the rooms have a ranged component.

Keep in mind that these modifications are subject to change, but will likely remain this way until after the CoX release.
We will be monitoring the result of these changes closely, and do not shy away from revisiting these changes when the time comes.

Image Toxic Blowpipe
Following OSRS change to the Toxic Blowpipe we have modified the equipment bonusses to accurately reflect OSRS, meaning the following changes are now in effect:
Old School RuneScape wrote: The Toxic Blowpipe accuracy has been reduced to +30 (from +60).
The Toxic Blowpipe strength has been reduced to +20 (from +40).
The special attack now gives +100% bonus accuracy, in addition to its +50% bonus damage.
The Ranged strengths of Darts used with the Blowpipe have changed as follows (and apply to all variants):
  • Bronze to +1 (unchanged)
  • Iron to +2 (from +3)
  • Steel to +3 (from +4)
  • Black to +6 (unchanged)
  • Mithril to +9 (from +7)
  • Adamant to +17 (from +10)
  • Rune to +26 (from +14)
  • Dragon to +35 (from +20)
The accuracy of all darts has been reduced to +0.
We choose to follow OSRS' example, since it both promotes the use of higher tier darts, properly balances the Toxic Blowpipe's use and provides an expectable experience for new players that are used to OSRS.

Image Amulet of Ranging
The Amulet of Ranging, obtained from the Brimstone Chest, has been modified.
The stats did not reflect its easy accessibility, and the amulet heavily outperformed the Necklace of anguish in PvM.
The Amulet of Ranging's damage boost has been changed: instead of adding +15% to your ranged level in PvM, it now adds +5% Ranged strength in PvM (as shown in the equipment interface). This adds an interesting element: weapons with a higher strength (like the crossbow with bolts) work best with the Amulet of Ranging, while weapons with lower strength (like the blowpipe with darts) work best the Necklace of Anguish. This creates some much needed variety in amulet choice while using ranged!

Additionally, the magic and ranged defence bonus has been removed.
It now solely has the +5% ranged strength and +15 ranged attack bonus.

Quality of Life
  • Examining items will now show their alch and street prices in the chatbox.
  • The Stonemason at the Crafting Guild now also turns noted Gold bars into noted Gold leaves, for the same price as unnoted Gold bars.
  • Venom is now disabled inside the Castle Wars minigame.
  • Holding the CTRL key inside the bank will now change the left-click option to the Withdraw 10/Withdraw X option.
  • The Farming teleport interface was changed to show all options on the interface, this makes it easier to navigate them without having to change pages. The 'Nevermind' option was removed.
  • Added the Ale of the Gods reward to the master clue casket.
  • The Mirrorshield is now purchasable for 240,000 gp from any of the Slayer masters.
  • Added a left-click 'Unpack' option to packed item sets.
  • You will now get a warning when you try to alch items worth more than 250M gp. You can change this threshold by right-clicking one of the alchemy spells, and choosing 'Warnings'.
  • Using a bank preset will now call your pet directly next to you.
  • Added the 'Inspect' option and a ::nightmare command to see how many players currently reside inside the Nightmare's dream instance.
  • The ::clue command was added to quickly bring up the Clue Scroll guide on the Wiki.
  • The ::clans command was added to quickly bring up the Clan section on the forums.
  • All ranks now have access to the ::idtoggle command, instead of just Honors.
  • The ::slayertask command was added for Honor accounts, adding the ability to freely set your assigned task, number of kills and slayer streak. This change will hopefully enable Honor players to fight Slayer-only bosses like the Alchemical Hydra, Cerberus and the Abyssal Sire.
  • The Slayer guide, found by clicking the skill in the skill tab, now accurately shows all the tasks unlocked by leveling up your Slayer.
  • The Herblore guide, found by clicking the skill in the skill tab, now has an additional line for each potion that shows what ingredients are required to produce the potion.
  • Each of the Runecrafting altars now has a teleport back to the Abyss, making it easier to navigate to each of the altars once you have entered the Abyss.
  • Each of the dart rewards from the Brimstone chest have been replaced by dart tips.
  • The Donator credits (in its item form) now have a left-click option that shows more information on how to transform them into the stored points.
  • The Theatre of Blood chest now rewards Weapon poison ++, instead of regular Weapon poison.
  • The Castle Wars ticket price for Trickster boots have been altered to 600 tickets, matching the other boot variants.
  • Combat dummies were added to Edgeville in the Honor world.
  • A chat message will now be shown when the Godwars Dungeon altars are ready to be prayed at again. This will help to notify players and save them potions.
  • For ironman players, the text above the ground items will now show the alchemy price, instead of the street value. This change was made because ironmen are not interacting with the economy.
  • The color of the untradeable ground items has been updated to be distinct from extremely valuable drops.
  • The Inquisitors mace now has its own unique animation, like in OSRS.
  • You can now pet the cat and dog at the Pet Trader in Edgeville.
  • You can no longer (accidentally) use teleport spells to leave the Inferno, you now need to use the ::home command.
  • Renamed the 'Iorwerth Archer' to 'Elf Warrior'.
  • Some new teleports were added to provide better accessibility, like the 'Zombie Minigame' and each of the Donator/Premium-only bosses. If you cannot access a teleport, it will be striped-through in the Teleport interface.
  • Drops worth 250M and more will now locally (within 25-squares) be broadcasted to the players around you.
  • Zulrah, Cerberus, Vorkath, Abyssal Sire, Alchemical Hydra and the Nightmare will now show the 'Fight duration' on death. You can use this to compete others or yourself! It is important to note that these are not stored/shown anywhere, so it's purely visual upon the kill.
  • The right-click options within the chatbox have been improved, you can now right-click 'Add friend', 'Add ignore' and 'Message' players in a lot more channels. You can now use the right-click option to accept ::private invitations from other players!
  • The dialogue system has been heavily expanded upon. This makes it significantly easier for us to develop Npc interactions, paving the way for creating holiday events (and maybe even quests) in the future. We have tested it thoroughly, but if you notice any broken dialogues; let us know!
  • In-game events are now shown in the #events-feed in the Discord channel. Use this to keep up with the active events!
  • It has snowed around PkHonor!

Bug fixes
  • The Little Nightmare pet is now visible on the Nightmare's collection log page.
  • The Primordial boots now require level 75 Strength to equip.
  • You can now toggle the visibility of (gold) max hit splats. This was supposed to be implemented in the corresponding update, but was bugged.
Feel free to send me a message, I'd gladly have a chat!

The Chambers of Xeric minigame is clan-based. Any member of a clan can start a raid by clicking on the Recruiting board (the red board just outside the Chambers) and choosing "Create a new party". They can then enter the raid's lobby room by going through the large doors. Once you are inside the lobby, other clan members can join in to participate in the raid. When everyone is present and ready, proceed through the tunnel at the other side of the lobby to start the raid. At that point nobody else can enter the lobby, the monster stats are decided and the raid itself begins.

When entering the lobby as party leader, you are shown a randomly generated layout of rooms. After closing this window, you can choose to either accept this layout and enter the raid or to generate a new random layout for 20 PkHonor points (5 if you are a donator). Rooms will be displayed in green or red in the overview if you have set these as your preferred room or rooms you want to avoid. You can choose your preferred rooms at the Recruitment board just outside the Chambers.

I will not delve into the exact mechanics of the rooms themselves, since they are pretty much identical to OSRS. If you would like to know what to expect from each room, you can read all about it on the OSRS wiki. It even has a strategy page with information on how to beat each room. For more strategies and knowhow on this minigame, you can find numerous videos on YouTube (this particular video has helped me a lot to understand how everything works exactly).

Aside from a number of supplies, you have a chance to obtain a unique reward from the Chambers of Xeric, depending on the amount of participation points you have at the end. These points are awarded for dealing damage to raid monsters and completing a number of tasks. For each 8,676 points, you have a 1% chance to receive a unique reward.

While in Pound or Pummel mode, your strength bonus is increased based on your average defence bonus. While in Block mode, incoming damage is reduced by 20% outside PvP situations. Changing between styles causes a 6 second delay until its passive effect kicks in.

Image Ancestral hat (2.07% chance): a magic hat that requires 75 magic and 65 defence, offering +8 magic attack and +2% magic damage bonus.

Image Ancestral robe top (2.07% chance): a magic robe top that requires 75 magic and 65 defence, offering +35 magic attack and +2% magic damage bonus.

Image Kodai insignia (2.30% chance): attach to a Master wand to create the Kodai wand, a one-handed wand that requires 75 magic and offers +28 magic attack, +20 magic defence and +15% magic damage bonus. It provides unlimited water runes and has a 15% chance of not using runes when casting a spell.

Image Twisted bow (2.30% chance): a two-handed bow that requires 75 ranged, providing +70 ranged attack and +20 ranged strength bonus. It has an accuracy and damage modifier which depends on the enemy's magic level or magic bonus (whichever is higher). The higher the enemy's magic level or bonus, the higher the accuracy and damage. The accuracy modifier is capped at 140%, the damage modifier at 250%. Inside the Chambers of Xeric, the enemy's magic level or bonus is capped at 350. Outside the Chambers, it is capped at 250.

Image Olmlet: when you receive any of the other unique rewards, there is an additional 1/53 chance that you will receive the Olmlet pet.

Image OSRS NPC stats Image

A lot of our NPC's, in particular the ones older than 3 years, never had their proper stats from OSRS. Wilderness bosses, Dagannoths, Zulrah, Barrelchest, Corporeal beast, Kraken and the Thermonuclear Smoke devil, just to name a few, simply had a fixed attack and defence stat that we initially thought was somewhat in line with their combat level. In many cases, this led to their defence actually being far lower than in OSRS and making it very easy to kill them with high DPS combinations like the toxic blowpipe and completionist cape (chaos). By giving them their proper OSRS stats, we have now managed to achieve the following:
  • The Magma and Serpentine blowpipe are the best ranged weapons against NPC's with a low defence
  • The Twisted bow is the best ranged weapon against NPC's with a high magic level or bonus
  • The Craw's bow is the best ranged weapon against most (if not all) wilderness bosses
  • The Dragon hunter crossbow is the best ranged weapon against Draconic creatures
  • In other cases, the Armadyl crossbow is the best one-handed ranged weapon when combined with enchanted crossbow bolts
  • In other cases, the Chaotic crossbow is the best one-handed ranged weapon when not using enchanted crossbow bolts
If one or more of the above statements turn out not to be correct, please let us know and we will make sure to adjust things as needed.

Image Item rebalances Image

The stats of the Abyssal tentacle have been changed so they now match with those of OSRS:

Image Abyssal tentacle:
Slash attack: +94
→ Slash attack: +90
Strength: +94
→ Strength: +86

In addition, we have lowered the stats of the following items in order to better balance them out and give all our top tier weapons a proper use in the game:

Image Chaotic crossbow:
Ranged attack: +120
→ Ranged attack: +105

Image Chaotic rapier:
Stab attack: +94
→ Stab attack: +86
Strength: +101
→ Strength: +93

Image Chaotic maul:
Crush attack: +167
→ Crush attack: +123

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Custom whips and tentacles (holy, unholy, balance, fortune, magic, shadows & souls):
Strength: +101
→ Strength: +96

ImageImage Whip and Tentacle of chaos:

In other news

  • You can now mine Amethyst in the Falador Mining guild at 92 mining. They can be cut into Amethyst arrowtips at 85 crafting and into javelin heads at 87 crafting.
  • The ranged strength of the crystal bow has been increased to +78 (from +70). This ranged strength will also no longer reduce as the bow degrades and remain at +78 until fully degraded.
  • Fixed a bug that would delay the respawning of the Nightmare of Ashihama if a player enters the room just as it is about to respawn.
  • You can now fletch dragon darts by combining dragon dart tips with feathers.
  • Dragon dart tips are now tradeable.
  • The "Monster Examine" spell from the Lunar spellbook now works.
  • When switching from a ranged weapon to a staff that already has an autocast spell set, you will no longer run up to your target. This bug only occured when you had the "Keep attacking when eating/switching (PvM only)" setting enabled.
  • Fixed the Tormented bracelet (or) not offering +5% magic damage bonus.
  • As of now, if you are about to train fletching and have brawling gloves (fletching) on your account but not equipped, you will be shown a warning and will not be able to proceed. To ignore the warning, simply perform the action again. The warning will only trigger once every two minutes. This measure is to protect unattentive players from fletching huge stacks at once if they forgot their brawling gloves (fletching).
  • Banks on Lunar Isle, the middle bank South of Thieving teleport and the bank East of Falador now work properly.
  • Lizardmen (shamans/brutes) have the proper animations + projectiles .
  • Making holy/unholy necklaces consumes a ball of wool.

We have lowered the defence of all NPC's (or at least the ones who use the OSRS stats, meaning most of our bosses) so they are now somewhat easier to kill.

In other news:
  • Vasa Nistirio's rock attack has been fixed and will now properly hit the player that is currently standing on the tile hit by the rock.
  • The Dagannoth Supreme's defence stats were incorrect, its melee defence was far too high. This has now been fixed.
  • The Great Olm's acid pools will no longer apply multiple hitsplats at once.
  • The Dragon warhammer special attack can no longer be used to lower the defence of the Great Olm's right claw and head.

As of today, the following bosses have become slightly faster to kill than they were before (without any changes to their droprates):
  • Zulrah
  • Kraken
  • Demonic gorilla
  • Lizardman shaman
All other bosses should take more or less the same amount of time to kill as before 21 January. Some will be slightly slower, others will be slightly faster, depending on the specific boss and your gear setup.

A couple of bosses are still slower to kill than before, as their defence used to be extremely low compared to OSRS. Even after applying a huge defence nerf compared to OSRS, they still take longer to kill than before and we can't keep nerfing them indefinitely. To compensate, the droprates of the following bosses have been significantly increased (especially their rare and valuable drops):
  • Dagannoth Prime, Rex and Supreme
  • Vet'ion
  • Callisto
  • Crazy archaeologist
In further news:
  • The rate at which you receive a purple chest at the Chambers of Xeric has been increased by 50%. There is now a 1% chance to receive a unique item for every 5,784 points (instead of 1% for every 8,676 points). The point cap has been lowered to 380,000 points (from 570,000 points).
  • A Lucky Olmlet now increases your chance of obtaining a unique Chambers of Xeric item by 16%, an Ex-ex parrot by 13% and a Ring of wealth by 12% (just like other NPC's, you cannot combine these with each other). This can be combined with a Whip of fortune, Tentacle of fortune or Completionist cape (fortune), which adds an additional 14% chance to receive a unique item. Hitting the Great Olm's head with a Whip or Tentacle of fortune special attack increases this chance by another 1%. This means you can increase your chances of a unique CoX item with up to 31% when combining all of this.
  • The Thermonuclear smoke devil now has 240 hitpoints (instead of 600), a max hit of 8 (instead of 20) and an attack speed of 2 (instead of 5). Its droprates have remained the same.
  • A bug has been fixed where the Corrupted scavenger in the Thieving room would not eat Cavern grubs faster if there are more in the trough.
  • A bug has been fixed where Vasa Nistirio could trample players in another Chambers of Xeric instance.
  • Clue scrolls received from the Chambers of Xeric are now logged in your Clue scroll collection log and Kill count book.

Image Chambers of Xeric Challenge ModeImage

A highly anticipated addition to our most recent minigame, the Chambers of Xeric Challenge Mode has been released!

Just like in OSRS, challenge mode bosses have +50% hitpoints and each raid consists of every single puzzle and boss room, always in the same order. Because of this, each challenge mode raid will, in itself, result in far more raid points than a regular raid.
To decide whether your next raid will be a regular raid or a challenge mode raid, simply click the red recruiting board outside the entrance and toggle challenge mode on or off (it is disabled by default).

If you manage to beat a challenge mode raid within a set amount of time, you also receive an additional 5,000 raid points and there is a chance to receive one of the following items (on top of the regular loot):

Image Metamorphic dust (1/300 chance), use this on an Olmlet or Lucky Olmlet pet to turn it into an Olmlet (m) or Lucky Olmet (m), which you can then freely transform into a (Lucky) Tektiny, Enraged Tektiny, Vespina, Flying Vespina, Vanguard, Puppadile or Vasa Minirio pet.

Image Twisted ancestral colour kit (7/400 chance, so about 1/57), used to recolour and imbue Ancestral set pieces:
  • Image Twisted ancestral hat: provides +9 magic attack (instead of +8)
  • Image Twisted ancestral robe top: provides +38 magic attack (instead of +35)
  • Image Twisted ancestral robe bottom: provides +28 magic attack (instead of +26)

Image Twisted bow imbue kit (1/400 chance), used to recolour and imbue the Twisted bow. Each variant can be freely recoloured into green, red or purple at any time for free:

The twisted bow (i) has a special attack which consumes 100% special attack energy, increasing your ranged accuracy and damage by 10% for the next 30 seconds. This effect immediately wears off if you unequip the bow. We may decide to buff this special attack in the future based on player feedback.

Each of the above items (metamorphic dust, twisted ancestral imbue kit, twisted ancestral set pieces, twisted bow imbue kit and twisted bow (i)) can be freely traded with other players.

The times to beat in order to receive 5,000 additional raid points and a chance to receive one of the above items depends on your team size and is as follows:

We may decide to tweak these times in the future based on player feedback and completion time statistics.

Completion times of both regular and challenge mode raids are now tracked and displayed on the blue score board outside the entrance. Each team size has their own ranking. Go forth and claim your spot!

Image Completionist cape (chaos) rework Image

The combination of the completionist cape (chaos) and the toxic blowpipe has long been one of the strongest setups in the game, due to the doubling of damage output on rapid mode (from 2 game ticks between attacks to 1 tick between attacks). To prevent this one combination from being the go-to setup in almost every single situation and rendering other top tier weapons nearly useless in comparison, we have decided to rework the passive effect of the completionist cape (chaos). After years of debate on the topic, we are pleased to have found a way to rebalance it without taking away from its sheer power. This proposed change has received overwhelming community support and is now in effect.

As of now, the weapon speed increase of the Completionist cape (chaos) is no longer just +1 tick, but +0.5, +1 or +2 ticks depending on the base attack speed of your weapon:
  • The attack speed of 3 tick weapons (Toxic blowpipe, knives and darts) is increased by 1 tick every 2 attacks (alternating between attacking at normal speed and attacking at a +1 tick speed increase), thus +0.5 ticks on average.
  • The attack speed of 4 and 5 tick weapons (whips, Ghrazi rapier, Scythe of vitur, ...) is increased by 1 tick (same as before).
  • The attack speed of 6+ tick weapons (Twisted bow, Dark bow, Chaotic maul, Elder maul, Godswords, Battleaxes, Warhammers, Dharok's greataxe, ...) is increased by 2 ticks.
Additionally, the negative (-5) offensive bonuses on the Completionist cape (chaos) have been removed and the defence of the following bosses has been reduced (for some more than for others):
  • General Graardor
  • Commander Zilyana
  • K'ril Tsutsaroth
  • Kree'arra
  • Dagannoth Prime
  • Crazy archaeologist
  • Chaos fanatic
  • Kalphite queen (both forms)
  • Kraken
  • Barrelchest
  • Demonic gorilla
  • Giant mole
  • Cerberus
  • Lizardman shaman
  • Vorkath
Furthermore:
  • The hitpoints of the Barrelchests have been lowered to 134 (from 450) and they are no longer immune to poison or venom (so they match their OSRS version). Their droprates have been halved, but their profitability per hour remains higher than before because of the major HP decrease.
  • The droprate of the dragon warhammer for Lizardman shamans has been increased by 40% (7/10,000 instead of 5/10,000).
  • Skotizo's defence has been buffed as the new Twisted bow + Completionist cape (chaos) would otherwise make it much faster to kill than before.
The overall result is that the weapon speed increase by the Completionist cape (chaos) is now far more balanced for all our weapons, we won't have to start making exceptions for any top tier weapons and the BIS ranged setup is still about as good as it was before (except the Toxic blowpipe has been replaced by the Twisted bow as best-in-slot weapon in most cases, as it should be).

The following bugs have been fixed in the Chambers of Xeric:
  • The respawn locations in Challenge Mode have been fixed.
  • Twisted Bow damage in Challenge Mode was not always calculated properly and is now fixed.
  • Drops in the game-feed channel on Discord now properly display if a drop comes from normal mode or Challenge Mode.
  • The layouts where you would run into a wall/black area have been fixed.
  • Vespula would only drop supplies if Vespula had taken damage, this has now been fixed and drops are now based on damage dealt to the portal instead.
  • Challenge Mode target times for teams of sizes 4, 5-10 and 11-15 have been increased with 5 minutes, so they are now 40, 37 and 40 minutes respectively.

  • Completion time of the middle layer in Challenge mode is now displayed when completing this level.
